App updates – October 2025

The sunny noontime session with the fabulous Royal Parks volunteers in July gave us a rich mix of bugs to fix, features to add and gaps to fill. Thanks again to you wonderful people!

The team – which we’re over the moon to say has grown with the welcome addition of Ramal and Thomas – has been working hard to get as much fixed and built as they can ahead of another volunteers day try-out, this time with Hackney Council and friends of Abney Park Cemetery.

There are improvements to account opening and deletion functionality, notifications and app stability (previously a bit of an issue when the phone lost signal). We’ve also adding a nickname generator to help protect your identity online.

The volunteers will be trying out the app’s ability to identify, analyse and map dead wood habitat, similarly to what Royal Parks volunteers did in Kensington Gardens, so there will be some improvement in that experience too.

If you have any questions, suggestions or want to get involved please get in touch!
